In 1986, Father François Dreyfus (1918-1999), professor of biblical theology at the French Biblical and Archaeological School of Jerusalem, confessed to being surprised “to find in the work of Maria Valtorta the names of at least six or seven cities that appear neither in the Old nor the New Testament. These names are known only to a few specialists and thanks to non-biblical sources.” And how can their authenticity be verified, if not by studying them methodically and comparing them with reliable data? This is what Fernando La Greca does here in his field of expertise. The historical and scientific data of Maria Valtorta’s work are ultimately secondary, but they are an essential step in strongly affirming that this writing is true and corresponds to the truth. Faith then allows us to move to the next stage and conclude that only God can be its Author. We can thus humbly acknowledge that the Gospel as it was revealed to me is a divine work.
