In 1909, when the Saint of Lisieux, who had died a few years earlier, was known as “Sister” Thรฉrรจse of the Child Jesus, twelve-year-old Maria Valtorta discovered her Story of a Soul, which was being read in school. She immediately understood that “she must walk that same path to reach Jesus,” and, after many years, she chose Thรฉrรจse as her “godmother,” offering herself as a “host to Jesus.” Valtorta’s writings document this “story of love and friendship,” as Carmelite Father Ennio Laudazi defines it. In the first part of the booklet, he presents his research, conducted on the pages of Maria Valtorta’s Autobiography. The second part is a collection of texts on the same “story,” taken from the three volumes of the Valtorta Notebooks.

The appendix lists the key dates in the life of Thรฉrรจse of Lisieux, as well as those of Maria Valtorta’s life and the events of her Work.
