The face of Christ, as revealed in the writings of Maria Valtorta and scientific investigations of her principal relics, is the subject of a new book by Liberato De Caro, a physicist and researcher at the National Research Council (CNR). He is also the author of four volumes of historical investigations on Jesus through astronomy, entitled The Heavens Tell. In the first part of The Unveiled Face, De Caro summarizes the main findings of scientific research obtained from a careful and rigorous analysis of Maria Valtorta’s writings. In the second part, he delves into the results of his own and other authors’ historical-scientific investigations of the Shroud of Turin, the Veil of Manoppello, the Tunic of Argenteuil, the Sudarium of Oviedo, and more.
Saverio Gaeta calls this book “an extraordinary essay… a milestone in scientific research on the relationship between faith and reason.”
