Maria Valtorta’s writings on the lay apostolate predate all others published thus far, and reveal a fervor that made her an evangelizer by vocation before she became one by choice.
Maria Valtorta felt the need to “be able to tell the crowds that Jesus must be loved with absolute dedication.”
Catholic Action was not her preferred choice, but it was the path she chose to follow after realizing she was unable to join the Society of Saint Paul.
The spirit of the apostolate, as Maria Valtorta conceived it, can be summed up in making Jesus loved through knowledge of the Gospel.
