It was certainly not just any story, given that it was about the life of the Son of God, yet it was accessible, within our reach. I could finally understand and believe. From that moment on, I was committed to spreading this work to everyone, young and old alike. That’s why we embarked on this monumental undertaking: the comic book adaptation, for which I called upon Luc Borza (script) and Bruno Martineau (illustration). Both worked for a year and a half on this project: volume 1 of the ICTUS series. Every page, every panel, character, detail… everything was meticulously crafted. examined, pondered, discussed. Luc Borza was born in 1985 in the province of Rouergue, in the south of France. He then moved to the northeast (in the Vosges) to undertake high school studies, which proved particularly fruitful also on a spiritual level, culminating in his years at the Sorbonne in Paris. Borza is a teacher, screenwriter, and finally an author. With “The Daughter of the Temple,” based on Maria Valtorta’s writings “The Gospel as Revealed to Me,” he wrote his first comic book story. It was the beginning of a series of editions (ICTUS) that would eventually number over twenty volumes.
Bruno Martineau was born in 1960. A cartoonist and illustrator, he has been creating and developing cartoon graphics for television and film for many years. Among the many, it’s enough to mention The Little Prince, Totally Spies, and Marsupilami.
This publication, published by Rassemblement à Son Image and containing excerpts from Maria Valtorta’s “The Gospel as Revealed to Me,” has been authorized by the Maria Valtorta Cev Foundation, which holds all rights to the works published in Italy and internationally.
Assim que comecei a ler O Evangelho como me foi revelado, de Maria Valtorta, uma série de imagens me veio à mente. Simples, belas, puras, precisas.
Era como assistir a um filme. Eu tinha 12 anos. Certamente não era uma história qualquer, visto que se tratava da vida do Filho de Deus, mas era acessível, ao nosso alcance.
Finalmente pude entender e acreditar. A partir daquele momento, comprometi-me a difundir esta Obra a todos, jovens e idosos. Por isso, embarcamos na colossal tarefa de adaptá-la para os quadrinhos, para a qual convidei Luc Borza (roteiro) e Bruno Martineau (ilustrações). Ambos trabalharam durante um ano e meio neste projeto: volume 1 da série ICTUS. Cada página, cada quadrinho, personagem, detalhe… tudo foi meticulosamente examinado, ponderado, discutido.
